Mears Ashby CE Primary School teaches the National Curriculum for Years 1-6 and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for Year R. In order to ensure the breadth and depth of our offer, we use careful curriculum planning to link our learning together across and within years, upholding our Christian values and curriculum intent for our pupils. Use the Curriculum tab at the top of the page to explore our curriculum subject areas in more detail. Our full Curriculum Intent Statement can be accessed to the right of this page.

Our curriculum reflects our local needs and context.  The curriculum meets the particular aims and values of our school by ensuring that

  • pupils enjoy a wide range of experiences which foster independence in thought and action so that they are ready to transition to larger settings
  • Christian values and a strong sense of family and community are woven into all we do
  • Real-life experiences encourage pupil’s understanding of the wider world beyond our immediate community
  • We care for our natural environment and learn how to protect it for the future

Information about the current content being studied in each class can be found on the class pages. If you require any further information about our curriculum, please contact us at the above number or use our contact form.
